The Nanophotonics Research Center (NPC) Institute of Engineering Innovation, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo. Initially composed of four core research groups, its purpose is to actively work on world-leading, cutting-edge research in nanophotonics. This relatively new field, utilizing light-matter interactions on the nanometer-scale, makes it possible to break through the classical diffraction limit of light and reveals unique functions that are only achievable by exploiting the unique properties of these interactions.
NPC will also serve as a gateway for University-Industry collaborations in nanophotonics and will actively communicate with the general public and international partners.
